How can I kick start my career and find a job I love?

The answer is Apprenticeships.

If you are 16 or over and want to develop your technical and professional skills, an apprenticeship could help you do just that.

As an apprentice, you can earn a wage while gaining the practical experience and job specific skills that employers want. You'll also work towards nationally recognised qualifications too.

You could work with some high quality companies in loads of different industries.

It usually takes between one and four years to complete an apprenticeship depending on the level.

As an apprentice you can:

  • Earn a salary
  • Gain recognised qualifications
  • Get paid holidays
  • Access high quality training
  • Learn job-specific skills
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience

You will have support from both your employer and training provider, and they will make sure that your training is best suited to the job.

‘What is an apprenticeship?’ will provide you with useful information about apprenticeships including the different levels of qualification, how long they last and how to apply for vacancies.

When applying for apprenticeships it is important to sell yourself well.  Get help with presenting yourself, completing applications and preparing a CV.

The Apprenticeship Programme is funded by the Welsh Government with support from the European Social Fund.
