Starting your own business? Go ‘freelance’? Work for yourself?
Even in the recession lots of people are setting up their own companies. Others are finding that self-employment is the way forward when full time permanent work is hard to come by.
We have some advice and information to help you make better choices:
- Planning and research. This is essential. The Welsh Government and some local authorities in Wales offer help and advice to people thinking about setting up a business. There are courses, a website and advisors who can help. See our section on Starting your own business
- Finance. Setting up a business and working for yourself involve financial risks. Success can mean a high level of earnings but the ability to manage your finances is essential. There is help, advice and even free training available. See our section on Starting your own business
