Full-time work
| |
Did you know that some employers, mainly large companies, have their own training schemes. These can offer you good training and good career prospects.
Major employers, such as the public services (Health Service and Local Government) take on 18 year olds. Officer training in the Armed Forces and the Merchant Navy is another option. Finance, banking and the insurance industry have good schemes or there are trainee management schemes in retailing, hospitality, leisure and tourism.
You may be tempted to take a job with no training - especially if the pay is good. But think ahead, if you don’t get trained or qualified you could still be earning the same in five years. Training and qualifications can help you in the future.
