Thinking about further education at school or college?

If you want to stay in the sixth form or go to college, the courses you could move on to next will depend on the course you are taking now.

For a rough guide to your choices, look for the section below that relates to you.

Options after Level 2 courses e.g. GCSE in vocational subjects / NVQ Level 2

Options after Level 2 courses e.g. GNVQ Intermediate / GCSE in vocational subjects / NVQ Level 2
If you get the right grades, you could think about going on to:
AS/A Levels in vocational subjects

If you don’t want to go on to University or start work then you could think about:
HE in FE
If you don’t want to travel far, you may be able to study a degree or HND at your local further education college. Many are linked to a local university, where you could go to complete the final year of your degree.
Art Foundation course
This one year course is a good first step if you are thinking about taking an Art & Design course at Higher Education. In fact, many Universities will expect you to have an Art Foundation course before you apply, as it gives you a grounding in the different art specialisms.
Vocational courses
If you want to do a more vocational course then your local college may offer a range of these, such as AAT Courses in Accountancy, Bilingual Secretarial and Journalism courses.
