We all know that people have various learning styles but what does this mean in practice for the way we provide learning experiences for students?
It is important when learning experiences that they are varied and range from the didactic (teacher led), active (learning through doing) to the experiential (learning through real experiences). PSE, CEG and WRE are living, practical subjects and although some aspects can be taught in a factual way, they rely heavily on active and experiential methods.
Progress File itself looks closely at learning styles and skills and is a very useful resource.
The key issues are: • the range and types of teaching and learning techniques • how to extend and refine these • assessing, recording and reporting students development against the intended learning outcomes.
Careers Wales is building up a bank of lesson plans and materials to support the delivery of CEG and WRE learning outcomes. The small sample below have been produced to address some of learning outcomes that professionals tell us are the hardest to cover.
