  Structure of Award

The CWQA consists of two modules namely:
1. Work Related Education
2. Careers Education and Guidance

Establishments will be expected to carry out initial self-assessment across both modules and plan action to develop both subject areas. A trained CW consultant will support this process. Following this the establishment will choose to either i. work towards and be assessed for both modules simultaneously
ii. develop the standards and be assessed for one module and then immediately focus on the subsequent module.

There are significant advantages to a joint approach to the modules as both subject areas have extensive relationships. Establishments do however have the option to select one initial module area to take through the assessment process. In this case once an establishment achieves the initial module, they will receive the CWQA trophy, certificate but will then immediately focus energies on achieving the subsequent module. Following assessment success of both award modules the establishment will be able to utilise the award logo.
