Your role as consultant will be:
- to advise the establishment of the work needed to meet the CWQA
criteria
- to refer the establishment to sources of information
- to help the establishment to use the examples and advice contained
within the 'Good Practice Guide' and other sources
- to review the establishment's documents, procedures and the
careers resource area in order to give practical feedback
- putting the establishment in touch with similar establishments
in order to share ideas
- to inform the establishment about any relevant training
- to work with senior management in order to keep the CWQA profile
high within the establishment
- advising on the appropriateness of evidence being collected
within the portfolio
- reminding the establishment of deadlines
- being honest about the establishment's readiness for assessment
- supporting the establishment in preparing for the assessment
- Keep the action plan for the subsequent module up to date and
encourage the establishment to carry out as much development as
resources will allow
- Carry out six monthly reviews of the action plan for the subsequent
module
Consultants may use the expertise of another consultant to gain a
second opinion on an area for which the consultant is not an expert
or if s/he is unsure as to whether the establishment is ready for
assessment. This may be particularly relevant where the establishment
is working towards both modules at the same time.
