c ) Whole establishment commitment
Following careful consideration of the information generated by the
self assessment and action planning process the managers should now
be able to make a decision in relation to achieving either or both
modules via one of the following approaches
WRE as initial module
Focus on the WRE module first (Initial Module) whilst keeping a watching
brief on the CEG award (Subsequent Module) and developing it where
possible.
WRE and CEG modules
Develop the standards needed for both modules (CEG and WRE) at the
same time, with the aim of being jointly assessed at the same time.
CEG as initial module
Focus on the CEG module first (Initial Module) whilst keeping a watching
brief on the WRE award (Subsequent Module) and developing it where
possible.
A formal meeting between the CEG and WRE coordinators, senior management
and the CW consultant should take place to confirm the establishment
commitment to one of the approach noted above. At this juncture the
establishment will be presented with a formal Certificate of Commitment.
d) Development period
This is the time between initial commitment and actual assessment
during which the award action plan will be acted upon and evidence
collect towards formal assessment. During this period establishments
will have access to support from their consultant and Careers Wales
Company staff and are likely to be involved in a range of development
activities such as:
Attending training days and conferences
Redrafting policy statements and schemes of work
Training whole staff groups
Improving the careers resources area
Running in-house training sessions for teaching staff
