There are 3 distinct stages in the process of working towards the CWQA. The process can be viewed diagrammatically below.

The first stage is designed to encourage establishments to undertake a period of self-assessment and action planning. This exercise allows data to be generated that will allow senior managers to make an informed decision about working towards the award and helps them choose the most appropriate way forward in relation to the CEG and WRE modules.

The second stage is the period during which the establishment will strive to develop the subject areas to meet the standards required. For some institutions this will be a short journey, others will need to invest a wide range of resources in improving the management and delivery of the subject. Careers Wales staff, from a wide range of sectors will be available to support establishments in this development work. The diagram below shows the range of curriculum support activities in which Careers Wales is involved.

The third stage involves formal assessment against the award criteria.

You will be provided with skilled help during all stages of the award process through the free services of a trained award consultant. You can make an initial enquiry about the award by posting, faxing of emailing the enquiring form below to your local award coordinator.
