New headquarters is vital for Careers Wales Gwent’s ‘broker’ role
|
The headquarters will support the work of the organisation’s 11 satellite offices across Gwent.
To mark the official opening, recognised as a watershed in the development of Careers Wales Gwent, employer partners were presented with a range of commemorative awards. The awards recognise work both in helping forge business and education partnerships and in workforce development activity.
Ms Neilson, Chief Executive, described Careers Wales Gwent as a ‘broker’ between schools and individuals and employers and stated that the new offices would be key in helping to expand that role. The links are considered crucial if local businesses and organisations are to be able to compete and take advantage of the increasingly global economy.
She said: “Employer engagement is a vital dimension of the effective education and development of young people in what is a rapidly changing global economy. I am pleased to say that the majority of employers and schools understand the benefits of working together and are keen to see these links expand and grow in future.
